These regulations are designed to protect the interest of owners and preserve the natural beauty of the cemeteries. Forest Lawn more closely resembles the newer memorial parks in design. Upright family memorials are permitted in all but one section. This cemetery opened in 1928 and is the largest of the municipal cemeteries, with more than 70 acres.
